The Elms - A Worcestershire Mansion Wedding Getaway

I've never seen any figures but Worcestershire seems to have A LOT of wedding venues!

So far I've either already been to or am booked to shoot weddings at Curradine Barns, Grafton Manor, Brockencote Hall, The Granary, Manor Hill House, Churchfields Dairy Farm, Chateau Impney, Deer Park Hall, The Fleece Inn, Bordesley Park, The Inn at Welland, The Sunshine Festival, Hartlebury Castle, Birtsorton Court, Gorcott Hall, Dumbleton Hall, Avonscroft Museum, Shustoke Barns, Cripps Barn and a field in Upper Welland!!!

Phew, just writing that list is quite overwhelming with the sheer variety of venues and there are lots more besides

One that I wanted to add to that list is The Elms, near the village of Abberley right in the heart of Worcestershire

It's a Queen Anne Manor House which used to be a grand family home and is now a beautiful hotel and spa that specialises in child friendly holidays. As a wedding venue it's a wonderful place, like you've got your very own country house for the day, tucked away from the world to celebrate with family and friends

I met one of the wedding co-ordinators from The Elms at a wedding fayre and she invited me along to an open day they were holding and I jumped at the chance. Of course, being a photographer, I took my camera with me and I certainly wasn't disappointed

It has a real charm about it, with period features galore and and elegantly decorated throughout (I should have been an estate agent!!)

At the open day were a couple of other suppliers, Diamante Weddings,  Rachel's Cakes, and a musical duo called The Fidgets.  It's great to get to meet and chat with other wedding vendors and of course it brings the venue to life for couples that are looking around

During the day I got chance to have a really good look around and it certainly doesn't disappoint. The bedrooms look sumptuous and the gardens are wonderful. As  I wandered around outside you keep discovering more things like a croquet lawn, a spa, a tennis court, children's creche, the list just goes on

A lovely touch that shows why how it's aimed at families is illustrated by these couple of photographs

Lined up by the door to the gardens are about two dozen wellies of various sizes, perfect for little ones who like to jump in muddy puddles!

So all in all, The Elms didn't disappoint and to top off my day there, I took my first wedding booking for the venue this autumn!! It sounds like it's going to be a lovely, relaxed, country house wedding with a jazz band, roaring fires, fireworks and a hot chocolate bar.
