It's always good to go somewhere new for a wedding and I'm really lucky that I get to see a huge variety of locations from country houses to city bars, from rural farms to historic hotels and from barns to urban regeneration
Here we have a sneaky peek at a wedding at one of the later, a city venue in Bristol at the uber cool Paintworks Events Space
where the lovely Hattie & Sol got married last weekend.
They met at University in Bristol and decided to return there for their big day and chose a fabulous venue. As the name suggests, it used to be a paint factory, and some local property developers have created a wonderful event space, complete with a retro Airstream trailer outside!
Pardon the way that I stare
There's nothing else to compare
The sight of you leaves me weak
There are no words left to speak
Urban industrial chic, sing-a-long ceremony and an awesome party!
There's so much to love about this wedding, I'm really looking forward to editing the rest of it, but in the meantime, here's a set of images to give you a feel for the day. I'm always aiming to take photographs that say something about the day, that give an insight into how people were feeling, to capture memories.
Hopefully this selection show the joy, the tears and a the laughter that comprised Hattie & Sol's wedding, and we even had a surprise tossing of the bouquet (at least, it was a surprise to me!!)
There are loads of different way that us photographers like to describe what we do, reportage, photo-journalism or documentary wedding photography. Call it what you like, for me it's all about the people and telling the story of the day
If you're thinking of having an urban wedding then at the end of the blog are links to a couple of other town/city weddings you might like to check out
