Recently, I was contacted by a couple who live in London but had found the most amazing wedding venue in Herefordshire.
Tucked away in a sleepy valley, feeling like you're in the middle of nowhere, but actually only a couple of miles from Hereford, is Lyde Court
Lyde Court dates back to the 14th century and the main part of the venue is a 17th century stone barn, very rustic and barely altered so they retain so much historic character and charm.
The venue is actually owned by and leased from the Duchy of Cornwall and Prince Charles himself has been to see how the site is being used!! So anyone who gets married there is walking in the footsteps of the future King!!
It has an outdoor option for an alfresco ceremony, a rustic out-building which can also be used for the marriage plus of course the stone barn itself. So, it seems to have pretty much all angles covered given the vagaries of the British weather!
The wedding I'm booked for is in October so we'll have to see if we experience an Indian Summer but I'm hoping there will be fantastic autumn colours. They're keeping their fingers crossed for good weather as they'd like to have their wedding outside but with so many other options I know it's going to be an amazing day come rain or shine.
