Last July I photographed the wedding of Kirsti & Jamie.
They got married at St Michael & All Angels in Tettenhall and then on to Lilleshall hall in Shropshire for the ceremony
I'm an observer at a wedding, capturing moments that hopefully tell the story of the day and of course emotion is often at the heart of many beautiful moments
Although I try to be at the centre of the action (unobtrusively!) I sometimes find that stepping back can give me a fresh perspective as things unfold.
This image was after the ceremony, in the churchyard - you can see the church and most of the guests in the background. Jamie, the groom, was away from many of their guests and then I saw his sister walking towards him. During the ceremony I could see how proud she was and that she was fighting to hold back tears
As she approached him in the churchyard you could see all the emotion on her face coming to the surface, tears flowing
Then there was this embrace
I think it is such a beautiful moment. Although you can't see either of their faces I think you can see how tender a moment it was, holding each other tight, Jamie barely holding back the tears himself
I've said it many times before but for me it's these candid moments at weddings that make the day. Images that remind you exactly how you felt when you look back at them. That take you back to that moment in time
