Sugnall Walled Garden Wedding | Annie & Sam

Sugnall Walled Garden Wedding, Staffordshire | Annie & Sam

As soon as I was asked to photograph this wedding I knew I was going to love it! A beautiful Shropshire village church followed by a reception in a Staffordshire walled garden, what's not to love!!

The wedding was planned pretty quickly, it only took about 6 weeks from start to finish. Annie & Sam had been planning on marrying the previous year but work, a house move and life had taken over and it had been put on hold. Now settled down they started looking around for venues and found the Walled Garden at Sugnall and discovered that it was available, in 6 weeks time!!

Cue much hurried planning to bring everything together, with much help from the Bride's mother who was actually the person who booked me

St Mary Magdalene Church is exactly what you'd expect from an English country church and with some of it dating back to the 12th century it's easy to understand why it's a grade II listed building. In the heart of the sleepy village of Hadnall, which is mentioned in the Doomsday Book, it's a gorgeous place for a Church wedding

A June wedding of course means rain(!) but fortunately we managed to dodge the showers at the church before a drive through the countryside to Sugnall.

Now, I really can't claim to be any kind of expert on walled gardens, but this one struck me as being quite magical. You feel hidden away from the world , your own little piece of tranquillity , in the heart of England. Although the showers returned some hardy souls made the most of the garden games and what self respecting wedding photographer would be put off by a little rain!

Hopefully these images go to show how much can be achieved in just 6 weeks

They had a fantastic day, despite the rain, with a reception at a wonderful rural idyll
