Brotherly love - my favourite Wedding images

This is going back almost a year to a wedding that I photographed at the end of June 2015 in Stourbridge, West Midlands.

The Bride & Groom have children (with another on its the way - how exciting!!) and it was obvious how important their family is to them.

The whole wedding day is a fantastic opportunity to photography people but the ceremony is of course one of the parts of the day when emotions are likely to be running high.

This photograph was taken just after the Bride had been walked down the aisle by her Dad who is about to give his daughter a kiss which in itself is a very tender moment. What I love though is the reaction of the groomsman just to the right of the Bride's father, who is actually her brother.

I know that situations like this can make me start to well up, in fact I nearly lost it at a recent wedding during the Bride and Father of the Bride Dance! (more to follow soon in another blog) so it's common to see the odd tear or two.

I love the way the image captures the moment between Dad and Daughter with her proud brother in the background also feeling the emotion of the occasion. You really can't predict if or when moments like this will occur at a wedding. But that's the challenge, to be always alert to what is going on and to document the day as fully as you can.

My job as a wedding photographer is to capture things like this, to take photographs that remind you of how you felt when they were taken, not posed, just authentic, genuine moments
